'Area 51' Video Game Featuring MARILYN MANSON Gets A Release Date
February 4, 2005According to a posting on GameSpot.com, Midway has set an April 25 release date for the "Area 51" video game, which features voice acting from shock-rocker Marilyn Manson and "X-Files" star David Duchovny. The upcoming first-person shooter is being developed by Midway's Austin Studios and will be available for the Xbox and PlayStation 2.
In "Area 51", gamers will infiltrate the famed restricted zone and discover that the truth is out there, as well as a virus that can decimate the entire human population. Armed with human and alien weaponry, players will blast their way through several levels and uncover the truth behind alien spacecraft crashes and faux lunar landings.
"Area 51" will retail for $49.99 and is awaiting a ESRB rating. A dialogue between Manson and Duchovny about several topics, including "Area 51", was published in last month's issue of The Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine.
